200gr cast bullets in 30-30 win ? why not !
I think the Ideal set up for that type of night vision that mounts to the eye piece would be it mounted to a forward mounted scope with a long eye relief . I'm surprised no one has tried this on an AR yet ?
😛❤️🩹😛❤️🩹😛
Yeah that bore is rough. But try shorter bullets. A 50 grain spitzer can be a challenge for the typical hornet twist rate. Many of the barrels in Europe were smaller groove diameter. Some European Hornet Ammo is a little undersized for American bores.
Hey man, do you have any plans for one of these made for a mb750? I run those but would be sweet if I could get an idea on how to make one?
Congratulations on getting married ! Good luck!
❤️🩹🇺🇸😜
Not to shabby. Thanks for sharing bud.
My late Uncle showed me a method of using a porcupine quill as a float , with a jig or worm. depending on conditions .
I think I have that same pole . keep on keeping on. Weve been catching some nice ones here in West Tennessee.
H&R is by far one of two favorite manufacturer for single shot rifles. My first H&R was 1.5 years ago saw two brand new 12ga shotgun and bought both of them. My third one is 500 s&w magnum. so much fun.
thanks
Well, I gotta get out and try my accuracy now that I floated the fore end on mine. I also stoned and polished the trigger group and got it down to about 4 pounds wasn’t satisfied so I sprayed some graphite lube on the trigger and it breaks at 26 ounces now. It was breaking under a pound and after testing it 20 to 30 plus times and letting it sit for a couple hours it climbed up 10 to 12 ounces.
The 30 XCB is my favorite bullet in my 30-06 and 300 Sav. I get better results with PC over lube in those rifles. H4895 is my powder of choice for HV loads and I get close to 2300 fps with excellent accuracy in those rifles.
If I stepped into your trap, would it bind my feet?
For cast loads It helps to flair the brass before you seat the bullets and then crimp . I get the best results when the bullets are sized at.225 .
Well that's what the expander plug does . It's basically just NOE's version of the Lyman M-die
@@TheBlackTrapper I use the NOE expander also . It does do a small flair that needs to be crimped . I thought I read that you didn't crimp these ? I flair and crimp all cast bullet loads.
@@jamespollard1670 I set mine to were I don't get the whole trumpet deal. I have where you can't even notice it's flared and no I don't crimp anything
Thats slick! 😂😂😂😂 Did ya see what I did there? ❤😂😂❤
😂😂😂
I see grendel i click. 👍🏼
The lead to the rifling looks like the reamer was slightly canted. It seems to be cut deeper on one side of the bore. I fixed one I have like that with the Tubbs final finish bullets. They smoothed and pushed the lead out .030". My chamber was really short. Groups also improved.
Cool stuff, thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Good stuff.
NOYCE!! Kroyl and JB Paste in a BRONZE brush with a patch, is your friend if ya introduce yourself!! ❤❤ My powder coat bullets have never leaded a good clean bore. My 358 NM was a re bore and JES dosent polish after unless requested and paid for. So before I polished it did lead with my PC cast. Thats only one and explainable and would have leaded with anything.
HAAYYYY CW !I Personally use either a nylons brush or a patch, was warned multiple times to NEVER use a wire brush with his stuff . But if it works for you 😁
@@TheBlackTrapper Its the other way other way around. NO NYLON! Bronze philosopher, is what you want. The nylon can/will imbed in your barrel steel.
Great video. Thanks. Have you considered lapping that bore? Maybe even look into a little bit of fire lapping. Looks like it’s time to make hay in that pasture.
So I've heard about fire lapping multiple times but haven't had anyone actually able to explain it too me lol !
@TheBlackTrapper Search Cast Boolits. It’s been talked about a number of times..
Nice.
Mornin Man! ❤
Good stuff. looking forward to the full video!
Nice bore scope. I wish mine was that clear.
The barrel and the groups look much better.

Yours is a newer 1/9 twist. My 1995 is 1/12. I bought mine new. First time to the range it shot in the same hole at 100 yards with junk bulk 55 grain moly coated ammo that was sealed in a plastic bag at the hardware store I bought it from. Sold it to a buddy and just got it back. I had to replace the Tasco 4x scope because the crosshairs fell apart. I replaced it with a Tasco sportsman 6-24 Sportsman. I sighted it in with a random 60 grain vmax hand load with 25 grains of benchmark. It shot the same hole at 100 yards…again! I shot a 5 shot group at 200 yards that measured 1 1/4” after I sighted it in at 100 yards. Mines super accurate even with the rotten 6 pound trigger. I’m going to do a trigger job on it in the next few weeks.
More load testing in it and trigger work.
Great rifle, I love the 521T. I have a 510 targetmaster and it’s the most accurate rifle I own.
I've just delt with that GFL brass, its got a HEAVY crimp on it. I just did a short of me dealing with it. Supposedly made by Fiochi
I've been dealing with the same thing, right now it's qualification time for the RCMP. So I've been getting pounds of 5.56 and 9mm. The best thing about the 9mm is it's their duty ammo, so it's Nickle plated. When I reload it with HP, it becomes my ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE ammo. As I'm stil able to reload cheaper than buying here in Kanuckistan.
That barrel is trashed! Looks like rust pitting. Start playing with your 223 again and look for a replacement barrel.
I have one i bought new in 94'/95'. Think they called it the varminter? Plain wood and heavy barrel. I remember the first day i sighted it in at the range. I could shoot groups all in the same hole with bulk junk 55 grain moly coated bulk ammo that came in sealed clear bags. Just got it back from the person i sold it to after all these year. The tasco 4x german retical fell apart so i replaced it with a 6-24 sportsman that tasco sent me by mistake. I tried 2 of reloads with it. Both shot 1 1/4" groups at 200 yards with the heavy trigger. Im going to polish the sear and hammer to see if it ligtens it. I had an ultra varminter in 243 around 2000' think i sold it before i even shot it and bought a vls in 243. The ejector spring must be weak in mine. The brass just sits there when I open it up. I'll have to replace the spring some day.
I have one in 223 I bought new around 94’. Just got it back. The thing is a tac driver. It will shoot one hole groups at 100 yards and about an inch and a quarter at 200 yards with the heavy trigger. The original Tasco scopes crosshairs fell apart. I kept it with a Tasco and put a 6-24 sportsman on it. I can see the holes at 200 yards…and crystal clear!
Does anybody know the name of the song?

Scope mounts on backwards brother. Awesome caliber I’m using it too. I’m having same issues, one pretty good group under 1”, then the next couple groups have flyers and opens up to 1.5”
Interesting. Thanks.
Great video
What bore scope are you using. It’s nice and in clear focus. You might consider lapping with a lead plug to smooth things out.
Send it and see!
It looked really good until the throat area .
They have a good reputation with me. If try it if its a problem they should stand behind it.
thanks
I had an H&R 20 gauge/Hornet combo in the early 1980s. I was terribly disappointed in thr Hornet accuracy. It was just like yours. Two inches everywhere for a total spread of four inches. Bought dies and different weights and brands of bullets. Worked all one summer searching for the magic combination that would bring it in closer. Stoned the trigger and hammer surfaces to get a very smooth trigger pull. Tried seating different bullets deeper into the case and out farther. Checked and rechecked the forearm screw tension and even shot it without the firearm. Never was good. Finally sold it to a fellow who wanted it for what I paid for it, about $135.00. Told him first that I couldn't make it print. He said he didn't care. Wish I had another one to see if it was just my bad luck or my bad shooting, but they are really expensive now. Enjoyed watching you shoot yours. Like the Hornet but was disappointed in the one I bought.
That long barrel is also helpful. Old rifles got it done.
Awesome. This is exactly the kind of experimenting around I like to do. Thanks for posting.
Lets see more shorts from you.
